Privacy Policy
Effective date: 17 October 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Gaurav Channagiri trading as DharmaCode ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use dharmacode.net (the "Service").
Who we are
DharmaCode is operated by Gaurav Channagiri, based in Killara, New South Wales, Australia. You can reach us at hello@dharmacode.net.
Information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us:
- Your name and email address
- Your child's first name, class, school board, city and state, and your answers to the assessment, including anything you type in your own words
- If you choose to invite your child to add their own view: your child's own answers to the personality and interest questions, anything they type in their own words, and a record of your consent (date and the version of the consent text). While your child is answering, their unfinished answers are kept only on their own device.
- Your email address, if you join our email list
- Your email address and which page you signed up on, if you join a waitlist (for example DharmaCode Agents or the Field Manuals). Waitlists are for adults (18+) only, and we use the address only to tell you when that product is available.
- A record that you confirmed you are the child's parent or guardian and gave consent, with the date and the version of this notice you saw
- Your phone number and messages, if you contact us on WhatsApp
- If you enter one, the counsellor code you used and your answer to "Who referred you?", kept with your payment record only to pay referral commission and never shown in your report
Anonymous visit totals, for everyone: when a page of this website opens, it tells our own server which page it was, which step of the quiz or the Full Report questionnaire was reached and, on the first page of a visit, the kind of place the visit came from (for example a search engine, WhatsApp or a direct visit) and whether the screen is a phone, tablet or computer. Our server only adds 1 to a daily total. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, saves no identifier, and cannot tell one visitor from another, so these totals contain no personal data. They are not sent to anyone else. Our own code never stores your IP address. Like most websites, the Google Cloud servers this website runs on keep standard technical logs of each request, including the IP address, for security, and delete them automatically after 30 days. We do not use those logs to identify or follow visitors. Pages that show a paid report, the page you see straight after paying, and the private page your child uses are never counted. If your device is set to a European time zone (including the UK), we do not keep these totals for your visit at all.
Payment details are collected and processed directly by Dodo Payments. We never see or store your card information.
Your report is kept at a private link that only you receive. Anyone you share that link with can open the report, so share it only with people you trust.
How we use your information
- To deliver your assessment results and reports
- To respond to your questions and provide support
- To send service-related communications (order confirmations, policy updates)
- To comply with our legal obligations
Third parties we share data with
We share the minimum information necessary with these trusted service providers:
- Google (Gemini API): to write your child's report from your assessment answers (and your child's own answers, if they take part).
- Google (Firebase / Google Cloud): to run this website and securely store your answers and report.
- Resend: to email you the link to your report.
- Kit: if you choose to join our email list, to send you updates.
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to message us about your report.
- Dodo Payments: our Merchant of Record: Dodo is the seller on your payment, takes the payment, handles tax and issues your receipt. See Dodo Payments privacy notice.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Where your data is stored
Your answers and your report are stored on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India, and the functions that process them also run there. Some of the services listed above (including Google's Gemini AI, Resend, Kit and Dodo Payments) may process your information in other countries, including the United States, to do their part of the work.
Data retention
We keep your child's details, your assessment answers and the report for 12 months from the date you submit the assessment, and then delete them automatically.
You can ask us to delete them at any time before that: email us and we will delete them, usually within 7 days. The only thing we keep longer is payment records we must keep by law (these do not include your answers or the report).
Waitlist emails are kept until the product launches and we have told you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever is sooner.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Children's privacy
Our Service is intended for parents and guardians. Where information about a child (usually in Class 9 to 12) is provided, it is submitted by a parent or guardian who consents to our processing of that information.
Before the assessment starts, we ask you to confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to us using the information to write the report. We use a child's information only to write and deliver that report. We do not use it for advertising, we do not track children or build profiles of them for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.
Your child's own view is optional. The private link for your child exists only after you give consent from your own report page, and it stops working after 7 days. If your child has not finished after 2 days, we send you (not your child) one reminder email. Your child is told before they start what we save, that you will see their answers, and that they can stop at any time. We do not ask your child for an email address, phone number or school, and the child's page has no ads, trackers or analytics. Their answers are stored on our servers where only our own systems can read them, are used only for that one report, are never written to our logs, and are deleted after 12 months or sooner when you ask us. We do not contact your child directly.
Your child's own words (anything they type, and quotes of it) are shown only in your private report view, opened from the link we email you. They are not part of the report link you can share, its link preview or the PDF.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw your consent, at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, but we will stop using the information and delete it. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@dharmacode.net.
Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
If you live in India, you also have rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and nothing in this policy takes them away.
Grievance contact
For any complaint about how your data is handled, contact our grievance officer, Gaurav Channagiri, at hello@dharmacode.net. We aim to reply within 7 days.
If you are in India and are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India. If you are in Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
